Three Decembers

Friday, Jun. 21st
Fri: 7:30pm, Sun: 2:30pm

Three Decembers is a poignant opera that tells the story of a dysfunctional family grappling with secrets, lies, and longing for connection. The opera follows the lives of Broadway actress Madeline Mitchell and her two adult children, Bea and Charlie, as they navigate through three crucial holiday seasons. As years pass, Madeline’s fame and success slowly decline, while her relationship with her children grows more distant. Through a series of flashbacks and present-day moments, the audience learns about Madeline’s complicated relationship with her late husband, why she kept secrets from her children, and the impact of her choices on their lives. As the three Decembers unfold, the family must confront their past, face their present, and confront the truths that have been buried for far too long. With emotional performances and powerful music, Three Decembers explores the depths of family bonds and the search for forgiveness and understanding.

The Beths

Saturday, Aug. 3rd
Starting: 7:00 PM

On The Beths‘ new album Expert In A Dying Field, Elizabeth Stokes’ songwriting positions her somewhere between being a novelist and a documentarian. The songs collected here are autobiographical, but they’re also character sketches of relationships and more importantly, their aftermaths.

The third LP from the New Zealand quartet houses 12 jewels of tight, guitar-heavy songs that worm their way into your head, an incandescent collision of power-pop and skuzz.

Amyl and the Sniffers

Saturday, Aug. 3rd
Starting: 7:00 PM

Amyl and the Sniffers are Amy Taylor (vocals), Dec Martens (guitar), Gus Romer (bass) and Bryce Wilson (drums). Formed in a Melbourne share house in 2016, the Sniffers wrote, recorded and uploaded their first EP, Giddy Up, in the space of 12 hours. They followed with the Big Attraction EP in 2017, which featured the whip smart track I’m Not A Loser, the punching oi punk of Westgate and the pugnacious violence of Mole (Sniff Sniff). These early EPs had a grab bag of influences, from Australian rock to rap to 70s punk, but the sound was all the Sniffers’ own short, fast, loud and funny. Already renowned for an explosive live show, The Sniffers made their international debut as one of the hottest tipped acts at The Great Escape in 2018.
