Every fall, Buffalo Int’l Film Festival screens over 100 features and short films from around the world, combining festival favorites with unique discoveries from local, regional, domestic and international makers. Now in its 15th year, the festival features films, episodic content, performances, filmmaker Q+As, panels, roundtables, art installations, and special programs. With a commitment to inclusion and amplifying diverse voices in narrative, documentary and experimental film; BIFF encourages works that push the boundaries of genre and form.

The organization also offers year round programming including film screenings, workshops and BIFF Offscreen events. BIFF’s signature five day festival event, modeled after similar events such as Sundance Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, offers visitors the opportunity to screen national, international and local films as well as to meet filmmakers.

Screenings and events are held at a number of local arts and cultural institutions around the city such as the historic North Park Theatre, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center, and more, giving visitors the chance to maximize their visit.
