BUFFALO: YOU’LL EAT IT UP! video

Food lovers rejoice, because while we are justifiably proud of our chicken wings, there is so much more to the Buffalo culinary scene than hot sauce and blue cheese dressing. (Though the wings at the Anchor Bar should be on anyone’s list of essential Buffalo dining experiences.)

We love to eat around here, which shows in our wide range of restaurants, and sometimes in our waistlines. If you want fine dining we have a diverse and sophisticated culinary scene that will satisfy the most discriminating palate. Some of the region's more renowned restaurants include Oliver's, Hutch's, Lombardo's, Sample and the 31 Club. The budget minded will enjoy our wide array of ethnic restaurants, satisfying a craving for Tandoori Chicken at Taste of India, sushi at Sea Bar, or hummus at Amy's Place.

For a cheap date and satisfying meal you can always depend on our other regional dishes of note: beef-on-weck at Charlie the Butcher's or Schwabl's and a foot-long hot dog charbroiled to perfection at Ted's or Louie's.

And don't forget to stop for some dessert at the Chocolate Bar or Chow Chocolat. You can even grab a to-die-for oatmeal cookie at Delish and then stick around for a cooking class.

What about those pierogies, you ask? Well, the Broadway Market offers a great variety of Polish specialties that reflect its long heritage. If you're looking for something a little more upscale try Premier Wines in nearby Kenmore or visit Wegman's. Believe it or not, more than a few out-of-towners consider this legendary supermarket a must see attraction. Or stop at one of our many farmer's markets for local produce, jams, salsas and pies right from the growers.
