Now, the rest of the country is getting a taste of Ted’s, too. Larry Olmsted, Great American Bites Columnist for USATODAY.com, visited Ted’s in a whirlwind trip to Buffalo last year that also included stops at some of Buffalo’s other favorite local food joints like Charlie The Butcher, Bocce Club Pizza, Duff’s, The Anchor Bar and Bar Bill Tavern.

Olmsted already wrote extensively on our wing scene from the visit, giving Duff’s wings a rare OMG! rating as one of his favorite regional foods he tried in 2015. He’s now turning his attention to Ted’s, which has been a staple of Western New York’s dining scene for almost 90 years.

“Ted’s is one of America’s classic hot dog joints, with dogs chargrilled in plain view and offered with all the extras you might expect,” Olmsted wrote. “But the history and local love of Ted’s goes deeper than most places cut from the same cloth.”
