Top “Surprisingly Romantic” Spot? Try Buffalo.

Buffalo’s Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, like the Darwin Martin House, helped elevate it to Getaway Mavens’ list of top romantic destinations in the Northeast.

Buffalo has been included in all sorts of travel publications and blogs lately.  National Geographic named us one of the world’s top 10 food cities. The Toronto Star proclaimed Garden Walk Buffalo as the best garden event.

Now the travel blog Getaway Mavens has selected Buffalo as one of the top romantic destinations in the Northeast. The blog’s author, Malerie Yolen-Cohen, visited Buffalo in the summer of 2014 and contributed a travel feature that went viral in the Huffington Post later that year.

Now, she has included Buffalo in her roundup of “surprisingly romantic” destinations, citing our destination’s resurgent waterfront, legion of new restaurants and breweries, proximity to Niagara Falls and “Frank Lloyd Wright charm” as reasons to visit with a significant other.

“Buffalo as a romantic destination? Yes!” Yolen-Cohen exclaimed. “This proud city is back.”
