The show will go on! New York State public health guidelines established in response to the Covid-19 virus allow for gatherings of up to ten people. This is great news for garden lovers since it means Open Gardens Buffalo will be held in 2020, with a few new rules designed to ensure the health and well being of everyone who participates in the event.
Organized by Gardens Buffalo Niagara, the Open Gardens event features more than 70 private and public gardens of all shapes and sizes from modest-sized city yards that punch way above their weight class to verdant country landscapes featuring ponds, creeks and meadows. Just look for the “Open Gardens” sign during the public hours on Thursdays and Fridays throughout July and you’ll have the run of some of Buffalo’s greatest gardens and socially-responsible access to the rock star gardeners who created them.
Open Gardens Guides are available locally at participating garden centers. The list can be found here: http://www.gardensbuffaloniagara.com/open-gardens-buffalo
Or, order online here: http://www.gardensbuffaloniagara.com/shop
Here are the new safety guidelines for 2020. In order to keep everyone — gardeners and visitors — safe, please be prepared to:
Wear a face mask
Maintain responsible distance
Not touch anything
Wait patiently if ten people are already in the garden
