Tony Conrad: A Retrospective

This exhibition, the first large-scale museum survey devoted to artworks Conrad presented in museum and gallery settings, is part of an ongoing reappraisal of his creative achievement. Because of the extraordinary scope of his contributions to art and culture, this may yet be seen as only an “introduction.”  This shows Conrad to be an unparalleled innovator in the mediums of painting, sculpture, film, video, performance, and installation.

Vandana Jain – Artisinal Capitalism

Vandana Jain is an artist and textile designer, who hybridizes contemporary visual forms—including national flags and corporate logos—into new iterations that address issues surrounding capitalism, globalization and consumerism. Recurring themes in Jain’s work have been the individual’s place in a rapidly-accelerated world, the spiritual vs. the corporate, and the questions of economics and political power.

Florescence – Using vintage manual lenses on a digital camera, Ann captures color, light, shadow, depth, and movement in flowers and leaves.  With the manual lenses, (from 1960-1985) the photos take on a painterly look, giving the finished photo an Impressionistic quality.

Spring Flower Exhibit

Don’t miss WNY’s favorite Easter tradition!  With over 22,000 bulbs on display, our Gratitude Garden will be filled with all the spring plants you love with our Tibetan inspired gratitude flags.  Also included with the exhibit is the 4-H Farm that will host baby bunnies, chicks, pigs, ducks and more! The 4-H Farm will be open from 10am-4pm daily. The Easter Bunny will visit the Botanical Gardens March 24, 30 & 31 from 10am-5pm.
