Turkey Trot

Since 1896 runners have competed in this footrace that has become today’s Turkey Trot.  The race attracts serious runners, amateurs, and team competitors alike. The Turkey Trot is an 8k footrace which begins on Delaware Avenue, and continues into downtown Buffalo. Consider joining us this year – a great way to work up an appetite!

Fairgrounds Festival of Lights

Fairgrounds Festival of Lights

Friday, Nov. 23rd - Sunday, Dec. 23rd

Take a drive-thru the all LED light displays in this Holiday Wonderland.  Park the car and stroll through the illuminated village, and explore each of the buildings for unique holiday activities, then climb aboard the short train ride around the Festival grounds. Don’t forget the Christmas Tree Forest, where 100 trees are decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, and grab a seat for the return of Kandy Kane and the ever popular Holiday Magic Show!  All this included with your carload admission. Be sure to take the kids to the Polar Shop located in the NYS Police Building where they can personalize their very own craft. Bring your camera!

The Buffalo Philharmonic once again joins forces with the Neglia Ballet Artists and Shea’s Performing Arts Center to present Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday ballet. enLIGHTen will feature an outdoor concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, on the renewed South Lawn of the Richardson. Music by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, Rachmaninoff, and more will be choreographed to a custom-designed light show projected onto the iconic Richardson Towers.  Brilliant displays of color, images, and light will trace the history of the Richardson and reflect the music being performed.
