Canal Fest

This will be the 36th year for the Canal Fest of the Tonawandas. This must-do summer event runs for 7 days, along the canal. Join in for the arts & crafts fair, a parade, the chalk art contest, vintage fire truck muster, and a bike and car cruise Then there’s the rides and midway, and of course the food! Come for a day, or all of them!

Elevator Alley Kayak Tour

The best way to appreciate Buffalo’s many grain elevators is from the water! From a kayaking perspective, the massive scale of the grain elevators and silos will be even more awe-inspiring. Join us for a kayak tour of the Buffalo River and its grain elevators in partnership with Elevator Alley Kayak. Learn about the history of the grain elevators in Buffalo and have many terrific photo opportunities on this guided kayak tour!

Slow Roll 2018

Monday, Jul. 23rd - Monday, Sep. 24th

Slow Roll is a group bicycle ride that meets every Monday night at a different start point around the city. Slow Roll Buffalo is a free and inclusive way to bring people from all walks of life together and connect our community.  Rent a bike at any of the Reddy Bike locations around the city, and show up to ride.  It is generally a 10 mile route through city neighborhoods, done at a leisurely pace – with a fun social gathering afterwards.  Check site for ride start location each week.

Eden Corn Festival

The Eden Corn Festival is a four-day annual event, celebrating its 55th year in 2018.  Buttery, juicy, sweet corn on the cob, served fresh and piping hot, will be the highlight of what you will experience at the Eden Corn Festival in Eden, New York, a festival like no other! This corn is home grown by the most skilled farmers in the State of New York, as evidenced by the taste of these ears! Bring your family and friends to experience a wide variety of delicious foods, midway rides, tractor pull, square dancing, arts & craft show, auto show, musical entertainers, animal shows, contests and much much more all while visiting the “Garden of Eden.”

The festival is held on the American Legion Post 880 grounds on Legion Drive in Eden directly off Route US-62.

Glassbarge

Friday, Aug. 3rd - Sunday, Aug. 5th
From: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

In 1868, the Brooklyn Flint Glass Company relocated to Corning, via the New York Waterways, and evolved into the company that is today known as Corning Incorporated. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of this pivotal journey, CMoG will launch GlassBarge—a 30’ x 80’ canal barge equipped with CMoG’s patented all-electric glassmaking equipment on May 17, 2018. It will then travel north on the Hudson, then westward along the Erie Canal before making its way to Buffalo.

Erie County Fair

Wednesday, Aug. 8th - Sunday, Aug. 19th
$12; Aug. 9: Noon-10pm, Aug.10-20: 9am-10pm

The Erie County Fair, held annually is the largest fair of it’s kind in New York State, and the 3rd largest county fair in the nation.  It seeks to preserve and showcase our community’s agricultural traditions, talents, diversity and heritage.  Come view the live animals, and visit their caretakers.  Then head over to the James E. Strates Shows midway, with over 70 rides and 100 games.  Enjoy continual entertainment on a number of stages, then visit the food vendors, whose options range from the casual to the extraodinary!  Come for a day, or two, or more!

National Buffalo Wing Festival

Entering its 17th year, this top event in Buffalo, is recognized as one of the best festivals in the country! More than 70,000 people from all 50 states and 64 countries attend the National Buffalo Wing Festival at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo. With over 100 flavors of wings, competitive eating competitions, amateur cook-offs, pageants and wing-centric events like bobbing for wings, the festival is a wing-lover’s dream come true!
