Spotlight Tour: Northland Workforce Training Center

This is a Spotlight tour that you must not miss! The conversion of this decades-closed manufacturing plant to a modern training center of the latest manufacturing processes is truly jaw-dropping.

Nestled between railroad tracks, a highway, and a hospital campus stands 683 Northland, now the Northland Workforce Training Center (NWTC) of Buffalo, New York. The large industrial structure’s original sections were built in 1910-1911 for Niagara Machine & Tool Works, a sheet metal business that was founded in 1879. Operations ended in 1999 and the building was vacant for nearly two decades.

This tour of the 100,000 sq. ft. plus facility will be led by Lonnell Williams, Lead Outreach Specialist who will take us through the various areas dedicated to each manufacturing discipline including machinery, welding, electrical and the growing clean/green energy sector to name a few.
