Literary Event: Lyanda Lynn Haupt

​We are thrilled to welcome naturalist and acclaimed author Lyanda Lynn Haupt to Buffalo to discuss her book Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit. In this illuminating and important book, Haupt explores what it means to live with the earth in both simple and profound ways. She invokes the term “rootedness” as a way of living in concert with the wilderness–and wildness–that sustains humans and all of life.

And yet today, one sobering estimate concludes that North Americans spend an astonishing 93% of their waking hours indoors or in cars.
