Buffalo Presidential Center Reopening Event
SPECIAL REOPENING EVENT AT THE BUFFALO PRESIDENTIAL CENTER!
“Buffalo is full of inspiration, because it has, next to Washington, the richest presidential history of any city.” -Brady Carlson
The Buffalo Presidential Center is delighted to announce it is reopening the museum space on the 2nd floor of the Buffalo and Erie County Central Library on Saturday, April 24 from 10 AM – 4 PM. Visitors will have an opportunity to see exhibits and artifacts that highlight 200 years of Western New York’s connections to the presidency.
Did you know that April is the 156th anniversary month of Abraham Lincolns assassination and TWO funerals in Buffalo? There was a mock funeral on April 19, 1865, the same day as those in Washington, D.C., and other cities. Lincolns funeral train arrived in Buffalo eight days later, on April 27.
For one day only, on April 24, visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to see some original artifacts and hear the stories from those funerals with board member Bren Price.
