WUFO 1080 AM/POWER 96.5 FM Buffalo’s only Black-owned radio station has a long history of promoting musical talents, music, and informational talk shows to uplift and inform the Buffalo and national communities.

Sheila Brown, the owner of WUFO 1080/power 96.5 and founder of the WUFO Black Radio Collective (Museum) is proud of the musical history and the current radio and local musical talent. Twenty years ago, WUFO introduced the annual Black Music Conference and Awards (BMMCA) to highlight Buffalo’s musical talent and to honor the musical history of WUFO 1080.

The Black Music Conference highlights include: The Annual MUSICAL AWARDS Show (Saturday, June 22) and The WUFO Talent Show (Sunday, June 23).

“We are proud of our history and look forward to the excitement of the annual conference and awards. Attendees love the energy and various activities that celebrate the music and local talent. Throughout June, we look forward to highlighting WUFO 1080 Radio’s musical contribution, stated Sheila Brown, owner of WUFO Radio and founder of the WUFO Black Radio Collective.

Sheila adds, “The two award events are Red Carpet Affairs! The community is invited on Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23rd to walk the red carpet and enjoy the music and Award events. We want the entire community to experience the excitement and celebrate WUFO’s musical contribution.”  To register: BMMCA & Black Music Month Conference Awards
