Cycling

Buffalonians love their bikes and you’ll find proof of this all over the region. Downtown, main roadways like Delaware, Elmwood, Linwood, Porter, South Park and Fillmore Avenues, as well as some of the smaller streets offer miles of designated bicycle lanes. With new lanes and bike racks popping up all over the city, you can get some good exercise as you pack in more views of our spectacular waterfront, beautiful parks, hip neighborhoods and historic areas.

Dick’s Bicycle Shop, across from Tonawanda’s Isle View Park, will get you rolling. From there you can head south into Buffalo along the water and pick up any of the city’s bike paths or bicycle lanes. A quick stop at one of our Visitor Centers will connect you with maps to navigate the city. Several of our local trails are part of the Erie Canalway Trail that runs across the state, offering scenic beauty and routes to match any cyclist’s skill level.

Campus Wheelworks in the Elmwood Village offers weekly Tuesday night bike tours of Buffalo, while Rick Cycle Shop has been serving Buffalo’s Allentown neighborhood for over a century. When you’re done cycling around Buffalo, swing by Handlebar, a café style bicycle bar downtown!
