Buffalo has always had a reputation for being a city that knows how to party. With a number of distinct nightlife districts spread across town, you’ll never be far from a wealth of watering holes and a whole night to find them, with last call at 4 a.m. There are plenty of nightspots found on Allen Street, along Elmwood Avenue, in University Heights and on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo, but the region’s nightlife mecca is the Chippewa Entertainment District in the heart of downtown. You’ll find plenty of people any night at the trendy Soho (64 W. Chippewa Street) and caffeinated cool at Spot Coffee (227 Delaware Avenue). It’s country in the city at Buckin’ Buffalo Saloon (294 Franklin Street) where the daring can ride the only mechanical buffalo in the U.S. Grab a pillow and unwind at Opus Lounge (252 Delaware Avenue), the brand-new Moroccan-style champagne lounge with hip beats. Keeping the Mardi Gras party going year-round is Bayou (79 W. Chippewa). This multi-level bar and dance club offers raised platforms for dancing and several saltwater fish tanks that adorn the main bar. Grab a pint from the Emerald Isle at Jack Devine’s (85 W. Chippewa Street), a new Irish pub featuring five giant HD TV’s – a perfect place for watching the game.

Dance the night away at Pure Nightclub (75 W. Chippewa Street), with its multi-level dance floor and state-of-the art sound and lights. A ComedySportz match features two teams of improvisational 'actletes' competing for laughs and points based on audience suggestions. A referee keeps things moving along and calls penalties and fouls. An average of seven to ten Improv games are played during each match. Every show is different with different players, different games, and different audiences supplying new suggestions.
