Art in the Summer Sun
The Allentown Arts Festival, one of Buffalo’s most celebrated summertime activities, returns Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Allentown Historic Preservation District.
Showcasing more than 400 artists and artisans, ranging from jewelers to painters to sculptors to glass smiths, the weekend attracts tens of thousands of people during its two-day run, making it one of the largest arts festivals in the country. The festival is just one of the reasons why Buffalo was recently named the No.1 Mid-Sized Cities Arts Destination by AmericanStyle Magazine.
Spanning multiple streets, sidewalks and shops, the 51st Annual Allentown Arts Festival is a great way to find one-of-a-kind works, enjoy the beginning of summer and explore one of Buffalo’s most beautiful neighborhoods.
The Allentown Historic Preservation District is a historic neighborhood located in downtown Buffalo. Designated a local preservation district in 1978 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1980, Allentown is one of the first and largest residential historic districts in the United States. Allentown is known for its community of artists, for its embrace of bohemian and gay culture, and for the civic commitment of residents to the historic and aesthetic sensibilities of the neighborhood. Allentown is one of Buffalo's premier areas for nightlife, dining, and antique shopping.
