Go “ape” this spring at the Buffalo Zoo
The Buffalo Zoo offers a variety of free family activities this spring.
March 25, 2008 - Things are getting wild this April at the Buffalo Zoo as they offer a variety of free family activities that allow visitors an inside look at animals. “Ape-ril Event” will take place April 5th and “Year of the Frog Celebration” will take place on April 13th at the Zoo.
Go “ape” on April 5th over the Zoo’s gorilla troop. Featuring keeper talks, crafts, enrichment activities and games, this interactive activity aims to help the animals in Africa.
This year is the “Year of the Frog” at the Zoo. Help them celebrate inside the zoo’s ecostation on April 13th when you can learn how to help save amphibian species that are threatened with extinction. There will be events year round in support of conservation, so check out buffalozoo.org for further information.
The Buffalo Zoo is the third oldest zoo in the nation and has recently undergone renovations to add a sea otter exhibit and sea lion cove. Currently, they are in the process of adding a rainforest exhibit which will be completed in the summer and in the fall they are set to expand and redesign the elephant house.
