An explosive stampede of song and dance!
Shea’s Performing Arts Center brings in the international sensations Stomp and African Footprint in the month of February
January 24, 2008 - Shea’s Performing Arts Center will have you tapping your toes to the rhythm and beats of two internationally renowned shows making their way to the spotlight this February.
“Stomp” stampedes to the stage February 15-17th for five performances. An international percussion sensation, “Stomp” has been described by The New York Times as, “Irresistible! A Sure-Fire Crowd Pleaser.” Consisting of a mere eight-member troupe, the performers use everything BUT conventional percussion items to create a mix of music. From matchboxes to wooden poles, brooms and garbage cans, Zippo lighters to hubcaps, Stomp is an unforgettable show that twists the ordinary into the extraordinary.
“African Footprint,” South Africa’s longest running show will make its Buffalo debut on February 26th. Telling the story of the diverse history of South Africa through a breathtaking blend of Afro- and Euro-centric music and dance, this vibrant and energetic show features a cast of 30 performers moving to the hypnotic heartbeat of the African drum, in a show that is being called an “explosive stampede of song and dance.”
