Taste of BuffaloWelcome to the City of Festivals. 2010 promises to be an especially exciting year as the National Buffalo Garden Festival and the Powder Keg winter festival both make their debut, the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition returns, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra hosts a Beethoven Festival at Artpark.

Highlights from the 2009 National Buffalo Wing Festival

Come and enjoy our food. The Taste of Buffalo is the second largest event of its kind in the country with over 60 local restaurants and wineries serving their tastiest treats to thousands of eager eaters in one amazing weekend in July. Or celebrate our most renowned local specialty at the National Buffalo Wing Festival on Labor Day Weekend at Coca-Cola Field.

Come and enjoy our creativity. Visit nearby East Aurora for our annual celebration of the Arts & Crafts Movement at the Roycroft Summer Festival. Stroll down Elmwood Avenue in August for our Festival of the Arts where you can buy pottery, photography, original artwork, crafts and jewelry while listening to great local bands and eating great local food. Or come to one of the country’s largest crafts fairs at the Allentown Art Festival in the heart of one of Buffalo’s most historic neighborhoods.

Come and enjoy our heritage. Dyngus Day, the annual post-Lenten party, celebrates our community's Polish roots and is the biggest event of its kind in the country. At the annual Juneteenth Festival you can experience our region's rich African American history. And don't forget to join Buffalonians of Italian, Irish, Scottish, Greek and Puerto Rican descent at festivals celebrating their cultures, and of course their food. Or join us for Citybration when thousands of Buffalonians return home to bask in their Buffalo roots or for Pride Weekend, when we affirm the lives of lesbian and gay people.

But wait, the parties are just beginning. In June and July,  we'll celebrate our parks, gardens and green spaces at the new National Buffalo Garden Festival and hundreds of neighbors will welcome you into their backyards during the Parkside Garden Tour and Garden Walk Buffalo. There are free concerts all summer long at Thursday in the Square, Jazz at the Albright, the Pine Grill Jazz Reunion, Gospelfest and the Music is Art Festival. You can even experience our extraordinary architecture during the annual Doors Open Niagara event or join fellow book lovers at the Buffalo Book Fair.

No matter what the season or time of year, Buffalonians are having a party somewhere, and hoping you'll join us.
