Niagara Wine Trail Itinerary
Leave your hotel in downtown Buffalo bright and early and head to Betty’s, a colorful café with a menu full of fresh, wholesome breakfast options. We recommend their spinach potato pancakes or scrambled tofu hash.
Then hop in the car and make your way up to Niagara Falls State Park to take a ride to the base of the falls on the Maid of the Mist or tour the amazing Cave of the Winds.
Next, it’s time for a little history. Explore Old Fort Niagara, which has stood at the mouth of the Niagara River since 1726, or hop aboard a Lockport Locks cruise, where you’ll learn how the Erie Canal shaped Western New York’s path throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
By this time, you’ll need a bite to eat, so make a stop at Becker Farms for a locally-sourced lunch. And, conveniently enough, this is a great spot to begin the Niagara Wine Trail, since Becker Farms is also home to Vizcarra Vineyards. Click here for more information about the 16 wineries along the trail.
After you’ve sampled your way around the trail, head back to Buffalo to wrap up your day at Bacchus, where you’ll find upscale dining and perfect wine pairings.
