Buffalo Bisons
Catching a Buffalo Bisons game is a guaranteed mixture of excitement, good cheer and summertime serenity.
The Triple-A affiliates of the Toronto Blue Jays play at the one-of-a-kind Coca-Cola Field, which has been the gold standard of minor league ballparks since its unveiling in 1988. Today, it boasts the largest HD video board in all of minor league baseball (80 feet by 33 feet) and its four-tiered Bully Hill party deck, luxurious suites and in-stadium restaurant give fans a variety of ways to enjoy the game. On top of all that, there’s the ingenuity of the promotions, from Star Wars- and disco-themed events to Friday fireworks shows and in-game races between a chicken wing, celery stalk and tub of bleu cheese.
Family friendly, date friendly – heck, just friendly in general – a night out at the downtown ballpark is a rite of passage for Buffalonians in the summer. There’s nothing quite like getting a brew from the Conehead (a vendor who wears – you guessed it – an SNL Coneheads hat), picking a Bisons player to root for and spending some quality time with people you love while the game unfolds before you.
