Frequently Asked Questions
1. What do passengers on my coach need to cross the border?
Before crossing any of the four international bridges, a few simple procedures must be followed. Upon crossing, each individual of your group will be asked to show proof of citizenship. A birth certificate accompanied by photo I.D. or passport are the only forms of identification accepted.

Buffalo Niagara offers experiences such as corsage-making at Woyshner’s Christmas & Flower Shoppe, chicken wing demonstrations, brewmaster tours at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery and wine-tastings at Bacchus Wine Bar. If you’re interested in bringing your group to the exact location that they were invented back in 1964, then head for the Anchor Bar. With a brand new addition, the Anchor Bar is ready to host your group no matter how large. But you don’t have to eat at the birthplace of the wing, to find the best in town. 4. How close is Buffalo to Niagara Falls?
Buffalo is only 20 minutes from one of the wonders of the world – Niagara Falls. We’re a short drive from not only the Falls, but also Niagara-on-the-Lake, East Aurora (Toy Town, U.S.A., home of Fisher Price Toys), Frank Lloyd Wright’s Graycliff Estate, Old Fort Niagara, the largest amusement park in New York State called Darien Lake, and more!
5. What are the advantages for enjoying my Niagara Falls experience from the American side?
Eliminate the hassles of crossing the border. Forget about the worries of one of your passengers forgetting their ID, leave behind the long lines and say goodbye to delays that throw off the rest of your itinerary. The American side of Niagara Falls still offers access to the Maid of the Mist and is the only place you can experience the Cave of the Winds. Buffalo is only 20 minutes from the Falls and we can offer competitive hotel rates compared to our Canadian counterparts. Give a fresh new look to your typical Niagara Falls tour. Visit some of Buffalo’s cultural attractions that includes Broadway shows at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. Pair that with our mouth-watering cuisine and you’ve got yourself a tour!
6. How’s the weather really?
Buffalo has four distinct seasons. Buffalo summers are traditionally mild and pleasant with breezes from nearby Lake Erie keeping temperatures moderate and humidity low. The average daytime temperature in July is 80°. Buffalo enjoys an average of 85 days per year with temperatures over 75°; 50 days with temperatures over 80°; and only three days with temperatures over 90°. The 100° mark has never been reached in Buffalo. On average, Buffalo has only three days per year when the temperature drops below zero. Buffalo can expect more days with temperatures over 75° (85) than days with snow on the ground (76). Buffalo's reputation for snowfall is in part the result of precipitation in the "snowbelt" south of the city, which is right where it's needed in the ski areas.
7. Where is the best location to exchange Canadian into American currency?
Check out Envoy International at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. They specialize in foreign currency exchange. Call them at (716) 297-4654.
A way to get foreign currency without actually having to exchange it, is to use an ATM machine. This won't work everywhere, but some banks have international access, and all military bases do.
It is a good idea to find out about the area you are traveling to before you exchange money. Sometime they'll take American dollars. And sometimes they'll take travelers checks. It is usually a good idea to have a mixture of all three.
You can use your credit card internationally, your bank will automatically convert the currency for you.
