Curtain Up!
The 30th Annual CURTAIN UP!, presented by the Theatre District Association of Western New York and M&T Bank, will be held Friday, September 16, 2011. CURTAIN UP! is the official opening of Buffalo’s live theatre season and offers something for everyone with theatrical productions at 16 participating theatres, associated events, a Creative Black-Tie Gala Dinner on stage at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, and a free community post party featuring live entertainment on Main Street in Buffalo’s Theatre District.
“This year marks the 30th anniversary of Curtain Up! And as you may know, Curtain Up is the Buffalo Niagara Region’s official opening of the 2011 theatre season. Pleas join us in celebrating our rich and unique performing arts culture by attending a production by any one of the participating theatre productions on this night…and throughout the 2011 theatre season. The evening celebration includes a Creative Black Tie dinner, attending a theatre production of your choice, followed by a free street party on Main Street with plenty of entertainment for everyone. The Theatre District and its members are pleased to host one of Buffalo’s premier events for the community.” Brian Dusenberry, president of the Theatre District Association.
