Buffalo has a lively and vibrant classical music scene. The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, fondly known throughout Western New York as the BPO, anchors the classical calendar with a schedule of concerts at Kleinhans Music Hall from September through June and a series of outdoor dates in the summer months.

You’ll also find the very best string quartets and chamber ensembles from around the world as part of the Buffalo Chamber Music Society series, an ambitious schedule of concerts offered by the University at Buffalo Department of Music, highlighted by the annual performance of the Slee Beethoven Cycle, as well as the June in Buffalo festival dedicated to contemporary composers. Also not to be missed is the Viva Vivaldi Festival presented every November by the Ars Nova Musicians.
