Shop our Buffalo farmers markets like a pro. Every May through October, farmers markets pop up all over some of our favorite neighborhoods and they are filled with delicious fruits, vegetables and artisanal goods. Truly the heart of the community, farmers and artisans gather with the area’s residents to celebrate the summer’s bounty. It’s full-green ahead and here are the top fresh picks for the best local farmers markets.

Saturday Markets

Elmwood/Bidwell Market, 8AM – 1PM, Bidwell Pkwy at Elmwood Ave, Buffalo

Elmwood Village’s farmers market is located in Bidwell Park, a beautiful strip of parkway that’s right in the center of the Elmwood Village shopping district, which was named by the American Planning Association as one of the country’s 10 best neighborhoods. Start your morning off with a baked goods from Breadhive, confections from local bakeries, and local honey, meats and more. The market sports some of the best-of-the best veggies and fruit and fragrant floral arrangements.

West Side Tilth Market, 10AM – 3PM, 246 Normal Ave, Buffalo (beginning June 3)

Tucked away on Buffalo’s West Side lies an urban market garden that has been growing seasonal vegetables and mushrooms since the summer of 2017. Pioneered by Carrie Nader and Alex Wadsworth, the small, organic and environmentally-friendly Westside Tilth Farm supplies produce to some favorite Buffalo shops and restaurants. Stop by to stock up and grab one of their on-site fired pizzas to go!

Williamsville Farmers Market, 8AM – 1PM, 5583 Main St, Williamsville

At the market, you’re met with live jazz or folk music, kids playing and families enjoying the sunny day under the green canopy of lush trees. Grab a freshly made baked good and a coffee in the early hours and peruse the locally grown fruits and vegetables, locally made sausage, natural fed beef, local wine, fresh cut flowers, herbs, breads, pies and more. Spend the morning or the whole day by bringing a picnic lunch and chilling in nearby Glen Park. This site offers a playground for the kids, picnic tables and the sparkling waters of Ellicott Creek that surround the island.

Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, 8AM – 1PM, 10717 Main St, Clarence

Partake in the fresh local strawberries, asparagus, jams and crafts of nearly 30 local vendors at New York State’s only “Rails to Trails” farmers market. Keep an eye on the Clarence Hollow Farmers Market’s special events too, which promise fun for the whole family.

Hamburg Farmers Market, 7:30AM – 1PM, 45 Church St, Hamburg

For more than 40 years of operation, the Hamburg Farmers Market’s chief motto is to “eat local, shop local and support local”. In addition to offering produce from farms only a stone’s throw away, this market also prides itself on teaching the community about sustainability, being environmentally friendly and nutritious care.

Alden Farmers Market, 8:30AM – 1PM, 13119 Broadway St, Alden

Spend your Saturday mornings at the Farmers Market! Entertainment and great products are available every week, from fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, chicken, beef, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, candy, spices, pasta, soaps, jellies, (phew!), and much more.

Chandler Street Market, 9AM – 2PM, 27 Chandler St, Buffalo

A relative newcomer to the market scene, the the Chandler Street Market hosts a diverse collective of WNY food producers celebrating locally made, small-batch, hand-crafted goods, all within re-adadpted warehouse in Buffalo’s Black Rock neighborhood.

Sunday Markets

South Buffalo Farmers Market, 9AM – 1PM, Cazenovia Park (beginning June 4)

On the terrace of the Cazenovia (Caz) Park Casino you’ll find all the usual suspects of a local farmers market, flowers, fruits and veggies, and handmade goods. But it’s the free programming that makes the South Buffalo Farmers Market so special – free yoga, kids activities, live music, craft days and a Christmas in July celebration.

Kenmore Farmers Market, 9AM – 1PM, The Village Green, 2919 Delaware Ave, Kenmore (beginning June 18)

The scent of fresh fruit and flowers is in the air at the Village Green in the Village of Kenmore. In addition to vendors selling local honey, tea, artisanal cheeses, spirits and more, you’ll find good eats from several local food trucks. Work off the calories you just ate with a little free yoga in the Green, too.

Holland Farmers Market, 8:30AM – 2PM, 49 N. Main St, Holland

Take a Sunday drive to the country and the Holland Farmers Market with a wide array of organic produce, poultry, cheese, maple syrup, herbs, homemade sweets, doggie treats, and holistic products.

Tuesday Markets

Eden Farmers Market, 3:30PM – 7:30PM, 2912 Legion Dr, Eden

“Homegrown. Handmade. Homemade.” The Eden market springs back to life. Marketgoers will discover 20+ vendors offering fresh, local produce, plants and flowers, baked goods, specialty meats and seafood, coffee and teas, wines, pet goods and much more.

North Tonawanda Farmers Market, 7AM – 1PM, Payne & Robinson Sts, North Tonawanda

Established in 1908, the city market has been a North Tonawanda staple for over 100 years. During the summer peak, it’s one of the region’s largest outdoor markets, stocking everything from flowers and fruits to cheeses and cookies. You’ll find nearly everything under the sun here! Also open on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Wednesday Markets

Springville Farmers/Flea Market, 7AM – 5PM, 341 West Main St, Springville

A truly American market, the Springville Farmers and Flea Market possesses a uniquely small town feel. Browse the baked goods and crafts from the local Amish community and fresh meats, from beef and pork to rabbit and other wild game. At the flea market, you’ll find a bevy of trinkets and antiques.

East Aurora Farmers Market, 7AM – 1PM, Grey St, East Aurora

The East Aurora farmers market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7am-1pm, and offers everything from vibrant flowers, fresh picked veggies, homemade soaps, raw honey and more. Also open on Saturdays.

Thursday Markets

Downtown Country Market, 10AM – 2:30PM, Main St (between Church & Court), Buffalo (beginning June 1)

Right in the heart of Buffalo, the 40th annual season of the Downtown Country Market is underway. The market is stocked with fresh produce from the region’s best farms while the sweet aroma of kettle corn and freshly baked donuts lingers in the air. Massachusetts Avenue Project Farm Stand, 3PM – 7PM, 387 Massachusetts Ave, Buffalo

This community centered organization focuses on economic growth, social education and nutritional knowledge through healthy foods. The MAP Farm Stand affords the organization the opportunity to spread the message of health and eating well, operating the stand Thursday of each week.

West Seneca Farmers’ Market, 4PM – 7:30PM, 1250 Union Rd, West Seneca

This family and dog friendly market is boasts a collection of fantastic vendors in a grassy, shaded venue with entertainment and fun for everyone.

Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market

Daily Markets

Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market, 8AM – 5PM, 1517 Clinton St, Buffalo

The Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market can trace its roots back all the way to 1930, when it was conceived as a cooperative market for helping local business survive and thrive. Today, the market is still going strong. The spirit of the market’s longevity can be seen its accessibility – open every day at 8AM.

Bippert Farms Market & Bakery, 5240 Clinton St, Elma

Priding itself on supplying quality ingredients to its loyal patrons, the Bippert Farms Market & Bakery has local treats and specials available all year long including homemade pies, pastries and other unique treats and is supplying folks with the best quality produce from esteemed local growers.
